Xbox Live Gaming Deals Revealed: Payday 2 Half Off Today

We are now on day 5 of the Xbox Live countdown to 2014 and, as promised, we here at CP will be bringing you another daily update on today’s special.

Today’s deal has Payday 2, the overtly silly, yet reasonably reviewed first person shooter game, going for $17.49 on Xbox live’s “Games on Demand” service – 50% off the original price.

Developed by Overkill Software, Payday 2 is a cooperative first person shooter that has gamers playing as two faceless misfits as they go through a variety of reprehensible criminal acts.

The missions in questions are actually quite varied in nature, having players go from the typical bank heist, to robbing jewelry stores, cooking meth and generally causing havoc in an assortment of random situations.

Among the video games press the game has received a lukewarm reception. However, gamers seem to be divided among two extremes, with fans of the series loudly touting its merits from the rooftops, while others give it a resounding “meh,” or choosing to ignore the title altogether.

Along with the some of the most tantalizing daily deals to ever hit the Xbox 360, the “Countdown to 2014” promotion also has some admittedly less tasty, but still still appetite whetting, weekly deals on a variety of top tier Xbox titles.
