Zach Galifinakis and Will Ferrell To Co-Star In ‘Larry’s Kidney’

After they teamed up to give us plenty of laughs in the 2012 political comedy The Campaign, the tandem of Will Ferrell and Zach Galifinakis is back and ready to deliver more laughs in the upcoming comedy Larry’s Kidney.

The Wrap is reporting that Ferrell and Galifinakis are headlining the cast of Larry’s Kidney, which is an adaptation of the memoir of author Daniel Asa Rose.

Ferrell will be playing Daniel Asa Rose, while Galifinakis will be playing his cousin, Larry. Larry’s Kidney is the true story of Daniel, Larry, and Larry’s mail-order bride traveling to China in hopes of securing a kidney transplant for Larry in order to save his life.

Of course, performing transplants on Westerners is illegal in China, which should create some conflict for the characters, not to mention plenty of comedy from Ferrell and Galifinakis.

Larry’s Kidney will be directed by Richard Linklater, who’s best known for the Before Sunrise-Before Sunset-Before Midnight trilogy, although he also directed the classic comedy Dazed and Confused, as well as 2011’s indie hit Bernie.

Production for Larry’s Kidney is set to start this spring, although there is no timetable for its release.
