Spanish company Figtree Factory Studio has created 01M-OneMoment – a pair of 100% biodegradable shoes that are eco-friendly.
Thin and strong yet light in weight, the 01M is an injection-molded shoe made from soft vegetable-based plastic. This manufacturing process results in a shoe with a sole less than half the thickness of traditional footwear. According to the company, these shoes provide a “real barefoot sensation,” with the largest model weighing less than 6 ounces.
The 01M 100% biodegradable shoe can be cleaned either by hand or by washing machine, after which they are allowed to air dry. The shoes are stored like regular footwear or folded in half and tied with a rubber band for compact storage. At the end of their life cycle, the shoes can be shredded and composted like any other organic material.
These shoes are available in a number of sizes for both adults and children. Consumers can choose from seven different colors, including black, white, blue, red, yellow, pink and lime green.
01M 100% biodegradable shoes can be purchased directly from the company’s website or through select distributors worldwide.
