10″ Waterproof Xperia Tablet Z | Pricing/Features | Video

The new waterproof, dustproof, Xperia Tablet Z, revealed in Japan last month, is now on its way to the U.S.

The tablet is sleek, just 6.9mm thin (just over a quarter-inch). It’s the thinnest tablet in the world, according to Sony.

A major feature of the tablet is that it’s water-resistant and dust-resistant.

The tablet is rated for submersion in up to 3 feet of water for 30 minutes.

Sony just released a new show-and-tell video of the waterproof tablet with them dunking it in a fish tank. The video is posted below.

Other features include a quad core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon processor, 2 GB of RAM, a 32 GB internal SD card, a microSD card slot for memory expansion and an 8.1 megapixel Exmor R camera.

The tablet has a 10.1 inch display with 1900 x 1200 resolution (Full HD).

Sony announced they expect the  Xperia Tablet Z to be available to US shoppers sometime in May of this year. According to The Verge the tablet will start at $499 for 16 GB version and $599 for the 32 GB version.
