2013 Kentucky Derby: TV Channel & Live Streaming Info, Start Time

The 2013 Kentucky Derby will be available streaming live online this afternoon through NBCSports.com.

Online coverage starts at 11 am ET with NBC’s Kentucky Derby Prep show.

Live online coverage of the 2013 Kentucky Derby begins at 4 pm ET.

Both shows are available through NBC’s Live Extra.

Depending on connection speed, streams are available in HD, according to NBC. The race can be watched through a browser or NBC’s Live Extra app, which is available free at the Google Play and iTunes app stores.

NBC’s Live Extra does require that viewers have a subscription to a participating cable service to watch many of their shows. However, according to their FAQ, a subscription is not required during NBC sports broadcasts that are shown on NBC, as the Kentucky Derby is.

NBC’s Derby coverage on TV starts at 4 pm as well. Hosts will include Bob Costas, Tom Hammond and Gary Stevens, and Randy Moss, amongst others.

Post time for the race will be 6:24 pm.

With Black Oynx scratched due to a broken bone chip in his left front fetlock, the race currently has a field of 19. Goldencents is the odds on favorite at publication time, with Revolutionary not far behind.
