Here is a preview of the men’s semifinals round:

Novak Djokovic-vs-Kei Nishikori: match play at 12 P.M. (EST), Arthur Ashe Stadium.

This should be an interesting match, as they have split their previous meetings at 1 a piece, have similar styles and are tied for points off the baseline with 57% each.

However, as good as Nishikori can be, especially when it comes to his killer serve, he has proven to be weak at times, both physically and mentally.

Djokovic, with his phenomenal return, should come out on top, but this might be a very close match.

Djokovic in 4 sets: 6-4, 7-6, 6-7, 6-3.

The other men’s semifinal match has the equally compelling match-up of Marin Cilic-vs-Roger Federer (some time after 1:30 P.M. (EST).

Federer, with his 17 titles and remarkable style of play in the tournament thus far, seems like the overwhelming favorite, but that isn’t necessarily the case.

These 2 men have met 5 times and even though Federer has a perfect 5-0 record against Cilic, the last time they met a few weeks ago it took Federer 9 match points to win, so this will be no walk in the park.

Also, Cilic has been playing incredibly and has both the stamina and the desire to win after repeatedly coming up short to Federer, who seems to always be in his way.

This should be a long, intense battle, with Federer winning in 5 sets: 6-4, 7-6, 4-6, 6-7 , 6-4.

Here are the highlights from day 12:

For the women it will be  Serena Williams  and Caroline Wozniacki battling in the finals on Sunday as Williams beat Ekaterina Makarova, 6-1, 6-3 and  Wozniacki beat Shuai Peng 7-6, 4-3 after Peng had to quit because of cramping from the heat.
