Day 3 of the 2014 US Open at Flushing Meadows, Queens, will feature the end of round 1 play for the men and the beginning of round 2 for the women.
Today’s coverage will be split between the Tennis Channel, ESPN and ESPN2 as follows:
11 A.M (EST)-7 P.M (EST) on the Tennis Channel (Men’s 1st round/Women’s 2nd round)
1 P.M. (EST)-6 P.M. (EST) on ESPN (Men’s 1st round/Women’s 2nd round)
6 P.M. (EST)-11 P.M. (EST) on ESPN2 (2nd round)
Viewers can also catch all the action streaming live through the Tennis Channel Everywhere or US Open Live .
The US Open Live site is free for everyone and available in the U.S. only. The Tennis Channel Everywhere site can only be accessed through your existing cable/internet provider.
The Tennis Channel will also be broadcasting US Open Live from 11 P.M. (EST) to 6 P.M. (EST), showing all of the days highlights, interviews and more.
For those looking to catch the action in person tickets are still available but limited to individual sales only at this time.
Day 3 features a somewhat quiet, but interesting matches before heading into a full day of round 2 events on Thursday. Here are the ones to watch:
Women:
Timea Bacsinszky -vs-Venus Williams: match is at 7 P.M (EST).
Venus is a 2-time Open champion and played strong in round 1, rallying after being down a set to Kamiko Date-Krumm to win them match and advance.
Venus has met Bacsinszky once before and won that meeting- today shouldn’t be any different.
Venus in straight sets: 6-3, 6-3.
The other matches to watch in the women’s group are Jana Cepelova -vs- Simona Halep, 11 A.M. (EST) and Maria Sharapova -vs- Alexandra Dulgheru ,1 P.M. (EST)
Men:
Stan Wawrinka -vs- Thomaz Belluci : match follows the Williams/Bacsinszky match, so approximately 9 P.M. (EST).
Wawrinka, The Australian Open champ, has been looking good all year and is in prime position to take the Open this year.
Belluci is a solid player, but Wawrinka should pull this one out in 4: 6-4, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3.

For the women Serena Williams defeated Taylor Townsend 6-3, 6-1 and Ana Ivanovic beat Alison Riske 6-3, 6-0
For the men Rodger Federer defeated Marinko Matosevic 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 and Isner beat Giron 7-6, 6-2, 7-6.
