7″ Kindle Fire HD Price Now $40 Off | 8.9″ Up To $150 Off | In Amazon Sale

Amazon just dropped the price of their 7″ Amazon Kindle Fire HD by $40 for a limited time.

The 7″ Kindle Fire HD is normally priced at $199. The $40 discount brings the price of this model down to $159 – matching the price of the non-HD 7″ Kindle Fire.

And while it’s not highlighted on their home page – the 8.9″ Kindle Fire HD 4G LTE is also on sale.

The 32 GB version of this model normally costs $399. It’s now listed at $319, $80 off.

The 64 GB version, normally $499, is now listed at $349 – $150 off it’s regular price. The prices quoted for this model are the “special offers” versions of the 8.9″ Kindle HD. The non-special offers versions are $20 more.

The Kindle Fire HD is just short of a year old now. We seem to be seeing sales on them more and more often.

The tablets run on an Amazon customized version of Android 4.04 (Ice Cream Sandwich).

They feature HD touchscreens – the 7″ screen is 1280 × 800px with 216 PPI. The 8.9″ screen is 1920 × 1200px with 254 PPI. They also have dual Wi-Fi antennas designed to provide for faster WiFi connections.

The Kindle Fire HD’s come with a free month of Amazon Prime, which includes access to the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library, Prime Instant Video, and free two day shipping on many of Amazon’s products. Continuing Amazon prime after that first free month costs $79/year.
