CA. Files Lawsuit Against Bounce House Makers

California is bringing suit against more than nine companies that manufacture bounce houses for children, saying that some of the inflatables contain an unsafe amount of lead.

Testing by the California Attorney General’s Office and the Center For Environmental Health discovered that the vinyl in the inflatables contain levels of lead that are above both federal and California state regulations.

According to the California AG’s office, children could be exposed to lead when they spend time jumping and bouncing in the bounce houses at parties.

The suit is being filed in an attempt to get the manufacturers to stop selling any products that contain lead, as a way to warn buyers of these products, and to encourage rental companies to warn consumers.

There is no level of exposure to lead that is considered safe. Children and some adults can suffer health problems based on their exposure to lead from a variety of sources.

The companies listed in the lawsuit include:

• Bay Area Jump
• Cutting Edge Creations
• Funtastic Factory, known as einflatables.com
• Magic Jump
• Leisure Activities Co.
• Thrillworks
• The Inflatable Store
• Jump for Fun, Inc.
• Jump for Fun National, Inc.
