According to Deadline News, Warner Brothers is developing a big screen adaptation of the popular Cartoon Network animated series, Adventure Time.
The film will be created by Cartoon Network Studios, with Chris McKay (The Lego Movie) and Roy Lee as the producers. The duo will also be working on another feature film, The Lego Batman Movie, which will spin-off from the successful Lego Movie and will star the film’s version of Batman. Pendleton Ward, the show’s producer, will also be involved with the writing and development of the film.
The specific plot details of the movie are still unknown. The show deals with Finn, a human boy, and his shapeshifting best friend Jake the Dog. The duo take on the several menaces that threaten The Land of Ooo, and interact with several of the world’s strange inhabitants, such as Princess Bubblegum, The Ice King, Marceline the Vampire Queen, and many others.
The voice cast is still unknown, but it is reasonable to expect the show’s regular voice actors to reprise their roles, such as Jeremy Shada, John DiMaggio, Tom Kenny, Hynden Walch, and more.
This is the show’s first full-blown movie, despite having several double-length specials and even a potential feature-length plot that was eventually adapted as a regular episode.
Are you excited about the movie? What do you think the movie should be about?
