The three biggest US airlines that offer flights to Japan are offering customers the ability to back out of those flights with no penalty, due to the earthquake and tsunami.
United Continental, Delta and American Airlines all have announced that passengers with scheduled flights to Japan can now change their flights or their destination with no change fees from the airline for a limited time.
United Continental is allowing anyone with flights to Japan to change their flights through March 18 without fear of a penalty or fee from the airline.
Delta is allowing passengers to reschedule any flights that will take place between now and March 20, 2011. Delta passengers have until April 25, 2011 to change their plans without the change fee being charged to them.
American Airlines is allowing anyone with a flight through May 18, 2011 to reschedule without fear of penalties. They have until March 25, 2011 to make the changes.
All three airlines have resumed flights into Tokyo’s Narita International Airport. However, travelers are still being advised not to travel into Japan due to the damage incurred from the earthquake and tsunami.
