All You Need to Know For Oscars 2014: Streaming & Red Carpet Info

Hollywood’s biggest night is almost upon us! Sunday March 2, 2014 will mark the 86th annual Academy Awards hosted by Ellen Degeneres at Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California and will be televised live on ABC at 7 pm EST.

This year, there are some very exciting ways to view all things Oscar related.

For the very first time, both the Oscars preshow and full award show will stream live for verified WATCH ABC viewers online and on mobile devices.

Watch ABC’s streaming service will be available for viewers with cable subscriptions through Comcast, Cablevision, Cox Communications, Charter Communications, Midcontinent Communications, Verizon FiOS, Google Fiber and AT&T U-verse in ABC’s eight Owned Station markets – New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Houston, Raleigh-Durham and Fresno.

You can access WATCH ABC through Oscar.com, ABC.com, or WATCHABC.com.

There is also a WATCH ABC app that is free on iOS and select Android devices. The app, which can be downloaded at Google Play, the Amazon Appstore, and the App Store, allows verified users to log in by using their cable or satellite subscription username and password.

But, fear not! All viewers, regardless of cable subscription, will have streaming access to the Second Screen experience, also known as “The Oscars Backstage,” which will provide both red carpet coverage and backstage footage within Dolby Theater.

All visiting viewers of WATCH ABC will be able to select from three channels that will gather from popular camera positions, including the Thank You cam, Winners Walk, Audience and Press Room.

Additionally, fans will be able to view photo galleries from the official Oscar buzz social feed within the WATCH ABC app.

In terms of an alternate option for viewing red carpet arrivals, Eonline, is offering live red carpet coverage that will air at 5:30 EST. If you cannot get enough of hosts Giuliana Rancic and Ryan Seacreast, this will be the best way to get fun and entertaining red carpet coverage!

So, there you have it folks! In the meantime, click for a full list of Oscar nominees.
