American Eagle Outfitters has announced its line of clothing for dogs called American Beagle Outfitters will launch tomorrow November 6, 2014.
The outfits for dogs will retail for $12.95 to $39.95 and be available in select stores as well as online at www.ae.com starting tomorrow.
As part of an April Fool’s Day joke earlier this year aimed at raising money for the ASPCA, the retailer said it was releasing a matching line of clothes for its customers’ canine counterparts. The response was so overwhelming that American Eagle decided to actually create American Beagle Outfitters for the holidays.
“We had an enormous reaction to our April Fool’s Day joke, and our customers were very clear about their desire for this product to become a reality,” said Michael Leedy, Chief Marketing Officer of American Eagle Outfitters, Inc.
American Beagle Outfitters features a limited edition set of items to match AEO’s Holiday 2014 collection for humans.
According to the company, the collection includes “color-coordinated “Get Down” puffer and ‘pupper’ jackets and vests, matching Fair Isle knits and graphic beanies with slogans such as “woof” and “selfie,” creating head-to-tail outfits that complement the style and personality of every pup.”
“Just in time for the holidays, you’ll be able to dress just like your best friend – man’s best friend that is,” said American Eagle Outfitters Style Director Preston Konrad. “This fun collection reflects the iconic elements of the American Eagle Outfitters brand reimagined for our favorite furry friends.”
American Beagle Outfitters will be available online at ae.com and in select American Eagle stores November 6, 2014.
