Tonight on Fox’s Season 12 of American Idol, The Top 8 becomes the Top 7 as we say goodbye to another contestant. Before we get to results, Idol presents a few guest performances for the viewers to enjoy.
The first guest performance is from Season 11 American Idol contestant Colton Dixon. Dixon, who is currently on tour with Third Day, to support his debut album The Messenger, performed “Love Has Come For Me” on the Idol stage.
The next guest performance is from beloved Season 5 Idol runner-up and current NBC Smash Star Katherine McPhee and One Republic with “If I Lose Myself.”
The final performance of the night is from American Idol judge Keith Urban, who sings his new single “Long Hot Summer.” Keith informs us about his “Light The Fuse” tour with Dustin Lynch. Tickets go on sale Friday, April 5th.
Alright, it’s now finally time to get to results!
In no particular order, Kree Harrison, Candice Glover, Angie Miller, Janelle Arthur, and Amber Holcomb are all declared safe.
This leaves the remaining three guys in the bottom three: Devin Velez, Lazaro Arbos, and Burnell Taylor.
Burnell Taylor is the first contestant in the bottom 3 declared safe.
Devin Velez ends up being the contestant with the lowest amount of votes. He sings for his life in hopes of possibly having the judges use their one save of the competition.
However, the judges opt out and Devin Velez is ultimately eliminated.
