Can you believe it American Idol fans?! The time has finally come to reveal who America has voted into Season 12’s finale!
Before Host Ryan Seacrest announced the two finalists, country cutie and Season 10 American Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina performed her new single “Barefoot and Buckwild.”
Alicia Keys also took to the Idol stage as she performed her new single “Tears Always Win.”
Tonight’s episode also launched the world premiere of Mariah Carey’s “#Beautiful” music video ft. R&B sensation Miguel.
OK, let’s get down to results!
Ryan announces that the first contestant to make it to the finale is….Candice Glover!!
The second contestant to make it into the finale is….Kree Harrison!
This is a shocking elimination as Angie Miller appeared to be one of the top front-runners the entire season!
Poor Angie was so overwhelmed with emotion that she had a hard time singing her goodbye song!
We have to say we are a bit surprised, but we are thrilled Candice made it through to the finale! She has been one of the best contestants Idol has ever had on the history of the show.
After all, it was Candice’s performance last night of West Side Story’s “Somewhere” and her rendition of The Cure’s “LoveSong” (on a previous performance) that received high praises by the judges. Specifically, Randy Jackson called those two performances the two best performances in Idol history!
