Porn on TV has a new name. And it is “Sleeping Beauty”, thanks to Anne Rice.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Televisa USA has bought the television and digital rights to the infamous “Sleeping Beauty Trilogy”. Written by Anne Rice in the mid 80’s, the books had been written under the pseudonym A.N. Roquelaure.
The trilogy takes the classic tale of the princess asleep for a hundred years, and awoken by the kiss of an adventurous prince. But instead of a kiss awakening her, her virginity is claimed. From then on, a tale of sexual escapades, mostly BDSM in nature, flows from each chapter. The sexual content is relentless, to the point of the author herself referring to the material as pornography.
The novel titles are “The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty”, “Beauty’s Punishment”, and “Beauty’s Release”.
With the popularity of the “50 Shades of Grey” series, Rice’s books have had a resurgence of interest, despite the author all but disowning her material.
Anne Rice is also known for her popular Vampire Chronicles series. Two of which were made into feature films, “Interview With The Vampire”, and “Queen of The Damned”.
