The CW has announced that they’ve picked up new superhero show Arrow for a full season.
Arrow‘s premiere took in 4.14 million viewers (the most for anything on The CW in three years), and its second episode made the show this season’s only new network drama to maintain its ratings in both the 18-34 and 18-49 demographics between its first and second episodes. With numbers like those, it’s no surprise the show has been given a full 22 episodes to deliver the exploits of this modern day Robin Hood.
Following in the footsteps of The CW’s long running and recently concluded Superman origin story Smallville, Arrow takes a look at billionaire bachelor Oliver Queen as he returns to civilization after being shipwrecked on a deserted island for five years. The show flips between his time on the island and his early days as Starling City’s vigilante savior Green Arrow.
Arrow‘s cast includes Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, Katie Cassidy as ex-girlfriend Laurel Lance, Colin Donnell as best friend Tommy Merlyn, and Paul Blackthorne as hardened detective (and Laurel’s father) Quentin Lance. Willa Holland also stars as Oliver’s younger sister Thea, and Susanna Thompson plays his mother, Moira.
Arrow airs Wednesday nights at 8p/7p Central . Any fans of this new series excited to see where a full season of Arrow will take the Emerald Archer?
