ASUS Eee Pad Slider Vs The Transformer, Specs & Pricing

After the huge success of ASUS Eee Pad Transformer tablets, another ambitious product is coming from ASUS this September.

Today ASUS showed off the specs on their upcoming tablet, the ASUS Eee Pad Slider.

ASUS Eee Pad Slider specs are almost identical to its predecessor’s.  The screen resolution of this tablet will be 1280×800 pixels. The processor is also the traditional Honeycomb one, a dual core 1GHz Tegra 2 processor. Similar to the other Honeycomb tablets, this one features 1GB RAM, 5 megapixel and 1.2 megapixel dual cameras, mini-HDMI, microSD card reader etc.

It will be running the 3.1 version of Honeycomb when launched, but ASUS has promised a 3.2 upgrade soon.

Compared to the Eee Pad Transformer, the Eee Pad Slider is more expensive. In the US, the transformer is $400, the Slider to retail at $550. The Slider adds a slide-out keyboard. And unlike the Transformer, which requires an additional dock for this function,  has a USB port built in.
