Auburn National Championship Hats, T-Shirts, Are On Sale Now

The Auburn Tigers are the 2010 BCS National Champions, and Auburn fans can now purchase official 2010 National Champions gear – including hats, t-shirts, jerseys, coats, jackets and more!

Manufactured long before the opening kick off between the Auburn Tigers and the Oregon Ducks, the National Championship gear was held under lock and key, according to WKRG, prior to the BCS National Championship game.

The shirts, hats and hoodies, proclaiming Auburn as the 2010 National Champions, sat in boxes prior to the game, behind a locked door.

According to the store manager interviewed by a WKRG reporter – he was under a vendor contract to keep those boxes closed until the end of the game. “What happens to the gear if Auburn loses?” the reporter asked. It’s sent back to the vendors, the store manager replied.

The BCS National Championship was played on Monday, January 10, between the Auburn Tigers and the Oregon Ducks. At the end of the first half, the Auburn Tigers were ahead, 16 – 11. During the third quarter,  Auburn kicked a 28-yard field goal, making the score 19 -11. But Oregon staged a comeback. After recovering a fumble, they drove 60 yards down the field and scored a touchdown and then a 2 point conversion, tying the score at 19 – 19.

On the final drive of the game, Auburn brought the ball all the way to the 1 yard line, and with 2 seconds on the clock, kicked a field goal to win the game.

The Birmingham News reported today that, despite an ice storm covering much of the Birmingham, Alabama, area in snow and ice – Auburn Tiger fans flocked to sporting good stores to buy 2010 Auburn National Championship merchandise.
