Emma Bunton, better known as former Spice Girl Baby Spice, says that a reunion for the groups 20th Anniversary is NOT happening- at least not yet.
Bunton told listeners on her radio show that rumors saying the group was getting back together without Victoria Beckham (aka Posh Spice) are untrue and that: ” “nothing’s happening at the moment”.
She also added that: “”If anything happens and it’s concrete, and we decide on something, I will let you know.”
Former Spice Girl Mel B. also chimed in on the rumors, tweeting: “”Woke up this morning wondering whether I need to start practising my backflips???!!!”
Bunton replied by saying: “Do I need to put my pigtails in?!?!?”
While there may be no concrete plans in place, listening to this back and forth it sure sounds like it WILL happen, especially when you hear Melanie B.’s other comments about a possible reunion.
Speaking to Jimmy Fallon last week on The Tonight Show Mel said: “”it’s about time” for the girls to reunite.
She followed that up by telling USA Today: “When you say it’s our 20th anniversary coming up, it does make you think, ‘Oh, my gosh, it really has been that long'”, followed by:
“Hopefully, we’ll gather the troops around, and we’ll get to do something to celebrate it next year. It’s in my plan, I don’t know about anybody else’s.”
2016 will mark 20 years since the groups first number 1 hit, titled Wannabe.
