“Batman: Arkham Origins” Announced For PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U & PC

Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment announced today through Game Informer that Batman: Arkham Origins will be released on October 25th this year.

The newest addition of the popular Batman: Arkham series, the game will take players to the early days of Batman’s career where he faces his famous villains for the first time.

The cover of Game Informer also reveals the main villain of the game- Deathstroke.  First time being in the game franchise, Deathstroke is said to lead “eight of the best assassins in the world” to attack Gotham City on Christmas Eve.

The game is not being developed by Rocksteady Studios this time around, but Warner Bros’ very own WB Game Montreal.

The game will still use the Unreal engine, and at the helm will be creative Director Eric Homes, known for being the lead designer of open world action game The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction.  He also wrote for IDW’s Transformers miniseries.

Batman: Arkham Origins will be available on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC.

But that’s not all, there will also be a handheld game available for Nintendo 3DS and PS Vita called Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate.

The game, which is being developed by Armature Studios, takes place chronologically right after the console game.  The game will be released the same day as the console games.
