Blue Buffalo Reaches $32 Million Settlement | How To Get Your Money Back

Blue Buffalo has finally reached a settlement of $32 million after a consumer class action suit was filed against the company by its customers for false advertising of its ingredients in October 2014.

Once word got out that Blue Buffalo foods tested positive for containing byproduct meal – an ingredient the company promised consumers wasn’t used in its products – customers were outraged and demanded an explanation.

Blue Buffalo denied responsibility and blamed its former supplier for selling the company the wrong ingredient.

Bill Bishop – chairman and founder of Blue Buffalo – had this to say about the settlement:

“More than a year ago, we informed our pet parents about the misconduct of a former ingredient supplier and broker. While we still continue to pursue our claims against them, we decided that it is in the best interest of our pet parents and our company to resolve the class actions now.”

How To Get Your Money Back

First, make sure your Blue Buffalo product is included in this pet food class action lawsuit settlement.

Then, file and submit your claim by April 14, 2016.

Receipt-holding Blue Buffalo customers can receive up to a 10% refund (capped at $200), while non-receipt-holding Blue Buffalo customers can receive $10.

This settlement covers purchases made between May 7, 2008 and December 18, 2015.

This settlement does not include the lawsuit filed by Nestle Purina.

Will you by filing a claim? Do you think it’s acceptable for Blue Buffalo to deny responsibility of any wrongdoing since it’s offering limited refunds?
