Candice Glover Gives Best Performance in History of American Idol

Tonight on American Idol the Top 6 finalists each performed two songs; one under the theme of “The Burt Bacharach-Hal David catalog” and the other “Songs the contestants wish they have written.”

Kree Harrison gave an absolutely stunning performance of “What the World Needs Now Is Love.” Keith described the performance best, “Your humanity and compassion comes through your singing.”

However, it was Candice Glover, who once again proves she is just on another level compared to all the rest of the contestants.

Her first performance of “Don’t Make Me Over” received a standing ovation by all the judges.

Nicki Minaj explains how Glover made the song sound like something new and fresh on the radio. She says Glover’s performance made her want to start a women’s revival. She further states: “You were born to do this, that was exquisite.”

Randy Jackson reiterates his common phrase “This girl is in it to win it.” He describes Glover as having the best vocal of the night. He explains how he loved how she started the song so simple and saved all the “Candy” stuff for later. He states: “It was emotional and so crazy good.”

Mariah Carey says, “You took a classic song and kept it current and kept it you. You showed yet another side of who you are.”

Keith Urban declares, “You set the bar so high, that performance alone puts you in my top 3.”

It was Glover’s second performance of the Adele version of The Cure’s “Love Song” that had Keith bowing down to Glover, Mariah pouring glitter, and Randy stating on behalf of all the judges “That was the best performance ever in the history of American Idol.”

Moments later, Randy corrected, “That was actually the best performance ever in the history of all the singing competition shows.”

We couldn’t agree more! Glover’s performance has left a lasting impression. Her flawless vocals and the emotional delivery of the song was out of this world.

She’s definitely the one to beat in the competition.
