Chipotle Mexican Grille is having a Halloween special right now – and a costume contest that runs to Nov 2.
Customers dining at Chipotle from 4pm to close today (Halloween) can choose a burrito, burrito bowl, order of tacos or a salad for $2 – if they come to the restaurant in costume. Most Chipotles are open until 10pm local time.
Chipotle will be donating up to $1 million of the proceeds earned during the special. According to the company, the funds will benefit The Chipotle Cultivate Foundation. Chipotle states that the non-profit organization is “committed to creating a more sustainable and healthful food supply and to raising awareness concerning food issues.”
Chipotle is also sponsoring an online custom contest, with entries being accepted until Nov 2.
The grand prize? $2500.
There will also be 5 runner-up prizes of $1000, and 20 “runner-runner up” prizes of a burrito party for ten at a Chipotle restaurant.
Those wishing to enter are instructed to submit a photo of themselves, in costume, either in or in front of a Chipotle restaurant. The contest can be entered through Twitter by following @chipotletweets and tagging a photo #boorito, or though Facebook at https://apps.facebook.com/boorito/
Complete rules for the costume contest are available on Chipotle’s site here.
