Many stores, mostly of the online variety, will be having Christmas Day Sales today.
Last year, the number of people shopping at online stores on Christmas day jumped 11 percent when compared to that same day a week before. The day after Christmas saw a 35 percent jump in traffic.
Amazon.com and other online retailers like Walmart.com and Kmart.com will be open on Christmas day of course, and are sure to be offering sales. The New York Times is reporting that Amazon may have sold 8 million Kindles this year – which is sure to cause a huge boom in Amazon e-book sales on Christmas day.
Target has launched it’s after Christmas sale early, online. A quick look through their site finds a $50 savings on a Magellan SE4 GPS Touch Screen Navigation System, 25% off select Merona Women’s Wool Turtleneck Sweaters, 50% off the Digital Decor 7 inch Digital Photo Frames, and $120 off an Acer Aspire 15.6 inch laptop.
Many of the major brick and mortar stores will be closed Christmas day, but 7-Eleven’s will be open, and they say that they do more business on Christmas day than any other day of they year. Items offered at 7-Eleven that can be used as gifts include food, beverages, hand-held video games, lottery tickets, gift cards. They have it ‘all’, the convenience store said an in email they sent out.
