Chromecast Shipping Date Updated To September 13

Google just updated the shipping date for the next batch of Chromecast dongles to September 13.

The Chromecast dongle first launched on Google Play, Amazon, and Best Buy in late July. It sold out within days.

For just $35, Chromecast connects a computer to an HDTV, broadcasting what is on the computer monitor so it’s shown on the TV screen.

Chromecast also supports Netflix, Youtube, and Google Play for – direct – streaming from the internet (wifi) to the TV.

After selling out, Google Play listed the shipping date as 3 to 4 weeks. Just this morning the shipping date was updated to September 13, 2013.

At this time, Chromecast is still listed at Amazon as out of stock.

At Best Buy, it’s “not available” (both in stores and online). We’ll update this story when those change.
