CHS Inc. Recalls Copper-Contaminated Feed

CHS Inc. has voluntarily recalled select lots of Kountry Buffet and Provider pellets due to high levels of copper.

The recalled products are 50-pound packages of Kountry Buffet 14% Text with Lot# 85092415-M702660, 85100615-M720130, 85101215-M728050, 85101515-M734590, and 85102315-M748470; and 50-pound packages of Provide 15% Pellet with Lot# 85101415-M732580 and 85101515-M734810.

Lot numbers can be found on the bottom of the label.

Consumers who have purchased the contaminated products are strongly encouraged to return the unused portion to original place of purchase for a full refund.

Consumers with concerns or questions can contact CHS Inc. via phone at 800-398-0327 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., CDT.

To date, no illnesses or deaths have been reported in association with this recall.

Symptoms in copper toxicity in sheep include anemic appearance, bloody urine, excessive teeth grinding, extreme thirst, jaundice, and lethargy. Copper toxicity can be lethal to sheep.
