College World Series 2011: Game 2 Preview, Streaming, Time & Channel Info

Florida and South Carolina go head to head tonight in game two of the 2011 College World Series finals tonight.

Last night, the South Carolina Gamecocks, who are the reigning National Champions, won the first in this best of three series of baseball games. Last night’s exciting ball game was tied 1-1 at the end of the ninth inning. South Carolina pulled out the win in the 11th inning, after sophomore Christian Walker scored on a crazy play in which two Florida players made throwing errors. With Walker making a run to steal second base, Florida’s catcher overthrew the second baseman. Then, as Walker raced on to third, the center threw ball to the third baseman low, it hit the ground and bounced into the stands. Florida failed to answer the score at their at bat – and South Carolina won the game 2-1.

The Gamecocks can capture the Championship with a win tonight. South Carolina’s pitcher tonight is Michael Roth, considered one of the nation’s best. The Florida Gators are putting Karsten Whitson on the mound. Whitson is a freshman, but a good one. He was a first round draft pick who turned down an opportunity to play with the San Diego Padres to go to the University of Florida instead. Last night’s game has set up a tense situation for Florida. To win the Championship, they have to win the next two games.

Tonight’s game is set for 8pm Eastern Time, and will be shows on ESPN 3. It will be streaming live on espn.go.com/espn3.
