Supernatural fans are reeling with excitement after this weekend’s Comic Con panels.
A lot of new content was released, including a season 10 sneak peek, the season 9 gag reel, and a live panel including Jared Padalecki (Sam Winchester), Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester), Misha Collins (Castiel), and Mark Sheppard (Crowley) for viewers at home.
The Supernatural season 10 sneak peek was played for audiences at the main Supernatural panel at Comic Con, and truly gives us the first glimpse of Demon Dean.
The clip shows Sam talking to Dean, who seems to be locked up in the bunker’s dungeon. Demon Dean feels no remorse; he loves being a demon, even to the point of telling Sam that “guys like [Dean] are the natural order. It’s the way it was set up.”
Dean also points out something that is somewhat of a mystery to viewers at the moment: “I know what you did when you went looking for me,” Dean says. “And I know how far you went. So, let me ask you: which one of us is really a monster?” What it is that Sam has done, we aren’t sure yet, but it definitely leads us into many possibilities.
The ending of the sneak peek has almost a horror movie feel to it, Dean being the predator, taunting and and Sam being the prey. Dean swings at Sam and misses. In response, Sam holds the demon-killing knife to Dean’s throat, allowing us to see Dean flash his demon-eyes. However, Dean isn’t afraid. “Do it,” Dean dares Sam. “It’s all you.”
