Netflix announced yesterday that it has struck a multi-year deal with Miramax films to stream hundreds of beloved Miramax films. This is the first time ever that any Miramax titles are available by way of a digital subscription service.

Starting in June, Netflix members who live in the United States will be able to stream their favorite Miramax movies from their favorite platform. Popular films like Good Will Hunting, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, and Spy Kids will become available to stream from mobile phones, iPads, iPhones, web browsers, and TV.

Netflix hails the agreement with Miramax as an “important first step in our digital strategy.” Through the agreement, Netflix hopes to build upon and revitalize the Miramax brand.

Netflix has also added captioning to movies for the iPad, iPhone, and iPad Touch. The feature is already available on browsers. The feature is available on app version 1.2.1 and later from iTunes.

Unfortunately, not all movies have the captioning feature available, but for those that do, a voice balloon icon appears on the volume control. English is currently the only option, but the feature will come in handy for many users who watch Netflix movies in crowded areas or who are hearing impaired.
