Popular deal site Groupon and Live Nation Entertainment, Inc are joining forces to offer a new online ticket deal site to be known as GrouponLive.
The new site will be used as a local resource for fans who wish to buy tickets that are offered through Live Nation’s ticketing business, Ticketmaster. GrouponLive will offer tickets to a variety of live events ranging from sports to concerts. It is hopeful by all parties that the new deal site will help boost declining ticket sales. Michael Rapino, President and CEO of Live Nation, says this site will provide another avenue for helping to drive ticket sales and increase audience sizes.
Andrew Mason, founder and CEO of Groupon, says that GrouponLive will be the destination for exclusive live event deals.
Customers will find that the site works much like the normal Groupon site. Users are given limited time special deals on local events. They may purchase these deals at a discount during the offer period. The deals will change randomly as new offers become available.
