Crime Runs In The Family In The New Thriller ‘Blood Ties’ [Video]

Directed by French actor and director Guillaume Canet, Blood Ties has an all-star cast, including Clive Owen, Billy Crudup, Marion Cotillard, Zoe Saldana and Mila Kunis.

This week in theaters, two brothers on two very different sides of the law will battle it out in the crime thriller Blood Ties.

Directed by French actor and director Guillaume Canet, Blood Ties has an all-star cast, including Clive Owen, Billy Crudup, Marion Cotillard, Zoe Saldana and Mila Kunis.

In the flick, Crudup plays Frank, a hardworking cop who chooses to help his gangster, lowlife brother Chris (Owen) after he is released from prison.

Making up for lost time, Frank lets Chris stay with him and even helps Chris land a job.

It is only a matter of time, however, before Chris gets back into his old habits, leaving Frank to decide whether or not to protect his family or do his job.

While the film appears to be very similar to the 2007 crime drama We Own The NightBlood Ties is actually the American film adaptation of the French novel Les liens du sang and the 2008 French film of the same name.

Despite opening to mixed reviews, Blood Ties was an official selection at both the Cannes and Toronto International Film Festivals.

Blood Ties is scheduled to open in theaters and on-demand March 21.
