Cyber Monday Smartphone Deals: Lots To Choose From This Year

Cyber Monday Smartphone Deals: Lots To Choose From This Year

Cyber Monday has arrived and so have the deals on smartphones.

Let’s take a look at what’s on sale today.

AT&T was the first out the gate with a Cyber Monday smartphone special. It launched right at the stroke of midnight (eastern time) early Monday morning. Complete with a 24 hour countdown clock.

Featured in the sale at AT&T are the HTC One X, the Motorola Atrix HD, the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket, and the Pantech Renue. Each cost 99¢ with the purchase of a two year contract (plus activation fees and such). A&T also has the Nokia Lumia 900 on sale for 99¢, though it’s not listed as part of their ‘holiday sale.’ The Apple iPhone 4 is also available for 99¢ with a contract.

Over at Verizon‘s Cyber Monday sale, they have the Samsung Galaxy Nexus by Samsung, HTC Rhyme, LG Lucid, LG Extravert, Pantech Marauder, and the Jetpack 4G Mobile Hotspot device, each free with a contract purchase. There is a bit of confusion on their site – these are listed as today only on their Cyber Monday promo.  On the actual page listing the phones, they say “This weekend only.” We’ll have to assume they meant the first.

In Sprint‘s Cyber Monday sale they list the Galaxy S2 and the Galaxy Nexus as free with a contract purchase. The ad says the Galaxy Nexus also has free activation. The also list the LG Rumor Reflex as being free with a contract purchase. However, at this time, we are not able to confirm the details, as their site appears to be malfunctioning. Clicking on the ‘buy now’ links just reloads the ads.

Oh, one more click on the ‘buy now’ link, and we get “We are enhancing this section of our site and it is temporarily unavailable. We’ll have the site back to you as soon as possible.”  Hopefully they will have their offers up and running a bit later this morning.

So with that, let’s move on to T-Mobile, which at 1am eastern time does not have a Cyber Monday sale listed yet. They do have a ‘web-only’ special, a $50 rebate card for switching wireless service to T-Mobile. They also say that, for a limited time, they are waiving the activation on all SIM cards. (update: 10am, T-Mobile’s Cyber deals are now online. Featured deals include, after mail-in rebates and contract purchase, a free HTC Windows Phone 8X,, a Samsung Galaxy S2, and a free Galaxy Tab 2 10.1.)

Jumping over to US Cellular – they have the LG Splender for a penny as part of their Cyber Monday sale. The Motorola Electrify 2 is $29, and the Samsung Galaxy S3 is $99. All with contract purchase, of course.

There are two major smartphone discounters online. Both sell phones with contracts from the major carriers (except for AT&T, which neither carry). The plans cost the same, but often the up front cost of the phone is less. Both of the discounters are having Cyber Monday sales.

One is Wirefly, which says they have 50 cell phones that are on sale for less than $1. Picking out some of the more popular smartphones in the bunch, we find the BlackBerry Curve 9310, LG Lucid, and Nokia Lumia 822 on Verizon. The Kyocera Rise, LG Viper, LG Optimus Elite, Samsung Galaxy Victory, and Motorola Photon Q on Sprint. And the Samsung Galaxy Exibit 4G, Samsung Galaxy S Blaze, and T-Mobile MyTouch on T-Mobile. They also have a $35 new activation credit promo going on for Sprint and T-Mobile service.

At LetsTalk, at this time, it appears they are still running their Black Friday sale rather than a separate Cyber Monday sale. This may change as we get further into Monday morning. They currently have the Droid RAZR HD on sale for $149.99 and the Droid RAZR Maxx HD on Verizon on sale for $219.99. They also have the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for $19.99, and the LG Viper for free, on Sprint. Priced with new carrier contracts. Sprint and T-Mobile activations are currently free.

That’s the rundown. Have you found other smartphone deals that should be included? Leave your favorites in the comments section below!
