Delta Now Offering Amazon Shopping During Flights

Delta Airlines announced today that they will be offering free access to Amazon.com and AmazonWireless.com (Amazon’s cell phone sales portal) to passengers on all Delta and Delta connection flights that include in-flight Wi-Fi.

Delta does not offer direct, full access, Internet connections during its flights. Through their in-flight Wi-Fi portal, they do offer free access to travel information, news, the Wall Street Journal and People magazine, plus shopping offers from Delta and their Wi-Fi provider Gogo. Amazon shopping will now be available through banners placed on Delta’s Wi-Fi portal page.

According to Delta, more than 160 million customers fly on the airline each year, which gives Amazon a huge, literally ‘captive’ audience. The terms of the deal were not released.
