The Limited Edition Sleeping Beauty Doll available online for pre-order at 3AM EDT last night at Disney Store has sold out entirely by 7AM this morning.
This gorgeously-detailed limited edition doll has a global production run of only 5,000 pieces, making it a highly sought-after collector’s item.
The doll was first available for pre-order in select Disney Stores in North America on Monday.
Originally priced at $119.95 in the United States, shoppers hoping to buy their own Limited Edition Sleeping Beauty Doll must now turn to sites like eBay, where it’s currently selling for anywhere from $350 at a minimum to upwards of $500 or more.
Some ambitious eBay sellers have even priced their dolls at $999.
Limited edition dolls by Disney Store are highly collectible and the Sleeping Beauty doll has been no exception. It has sold as quickly as Disney Store’s previous set of limited edition dolls featuring Anna and Elsa from ‘Frozen’- both sold out in a matter of hours in January.
The Limited Edition Sleeping Beauty Doll is expected to ship to North American pre-order customers by October 7th.
This beautifully intricate doll features Princess Aurora from Disney’s 1959 animated film, ‘Sleeping Beauty’ and stands at 17-inches tall. The doll is fully posable and draped in a rose-colored chiffon and satin dress with a delicately golden embroidered briar rose pattern dotted with over 100 hand-placed rhinestone crystals in gold and pink.
The Limited Edition Sleeping Beauty Doll was released to celebrate the return of ‘Sleeping Beauty’ to Blu-ray and DVD.
