Don’t Be Fooled: Not All Cyber Monday (Week) Deals Are Deals

Consumers beware: not all those Cyber Monday/Cyber Week deals your seeing are great deals, so you might want to hold off on finishing your Christmas shopping.

Cyber Monday used to offer comparable prices to Black Friday, but this year the opposite is true.

Consumer Press did some comparison shopping and discovered  that  not only are there fewer deals, but most of the sales prices your seeing are actually higher than they were for Black Friday just a few days ago.

The biggest thing we’ve noticed is that many retailers, including Walmart, Macy’s and Best Buy are no longer offering free shipping (a BIG plus when ordering online) now, they are  only offering free shipping after you spend a certain amount.

To help you see just how much your NOT saving here is a list of  big ticket items from some major retailers, along with their Black Friday sales prices:

Walmart:

– Apple iPad mini with Wi-Fi, 16GB: $219.99 (Black Friday Price: $199).  Priced $20 higher.

– Beats By Dre Solo Drenched headphones: $152 (Black Friday Price: $99, plus a $30 Walmart gift card).  Priced $50 higher.

– Samsung 60″ Smart Class LED HDTV: $977.  (Black Friday Price: $798).  Priced $180 higher.

– Vizio Smart Class 65″ LED TV: $798 (Black Friday Price $648).  Priced $150 higher.

Best Buy:

– Apple iPad air 2: $499 and up.  (Black Friday Price: $299 for all iPad air 2’s).  Priced $200 higher.

– Vizio 50″ LED 1080p Smart HDTV: $549.  (Black Friday Price: $499).  Priced $50 higher.

– Apple MacBook Air 11.6 (Intel Cor i5): $854.99.  (Black Friday Price: $779.  Priced $75 higher.

Target:

-Vizio 39″ LED HDTV: $349.99.  (Black Friday Price: $219.99).  Priced $130 higher.

Consumer Press spoke to a Best Buy sales rep, who could not explain the price differences.  We got no response from Walmart or Target.
