Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to Star in Big Trouble in Little China Remake

It has been announced that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will star in the remake of the cult classic film Big Trouble in Little China. X Men: First Class writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz will write the script.

Johnson will play Jack Burton, a trucker lured into the underworld of San Francisco’s Chinatown. Johnson and his producers pitched the remake to Fox and have closed the deal.

The original film, which starred Kurt Russell, grossed only $11 million at the box office but remains beloved by fans.

As of now, Johnson has been highly popular in his acting career. Coming off of a $54 million domestic opening of San Andreas, Johnson has been popular at home as well as overseas.

Johnson will also be seen in HBO’s Ballers and is set to star in Warner Bros. comic book movie Shazam. He is also providing his voice to Disney’s animated movie Moana.

Miller and Stentz, the writers for the film, have previously wrote the screenplay for Marvel’s Thor and are currently writing the upcoming movie Acme.
