E3 2014 News: Top 5 Things That Happened At E3 2014!

Here are the top 5 delightfully unexpected announcements from E3 2014 (in no particular order).

1. Dead Island 2

While some may say the title is misleading due to having two previous Dead Island titles with retail releases, Dead Island 2 had a brief and amusing showing at Sony’s press conference. Dead Island 2 intends to bring new gamers into the zombie genre while maintaining the same charm for old fans.

Deep Silver’s game is set to be released in Spring 2015 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

2. Rainbow Six: Siege

Gamers were overjoyed to hear that Ubisoft would be bringing back the long awaited reboot to the Rainbow Six franchise. Ubisoft previously unveiled a title called Rainbow Six: Patriots, but it has been confirmed that Siege will replace this title and focus more on tactical breach and clear style gaming. Fans of the series can expect the same high octane action shooter as previous versions.

Ubisoft released an early alpha gameplay trailer. Viewers should know alpha footage may not fully reflect the final product.

3.  Grand Theft Auto 5

Many may think this title is a mistake for this list. The critically acclaimed Rockstar game, released back in September of 2013, is getting a graphical makeover and being brought to the next generation of gaming consoles.

With only a trailer shown gamers can expect a release of the updated version later this fall.

4. Rise of the Tomb Raider

Previously mentioned in the recap of Microsoft’s conference, the sequel to last year’s well received reboot has been teased. With only a brief CGI trailer shown viewers will have to wait for more information on Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Release date is set for a winter 2015 window for PC and next gen consoles.

5.  Entwined

Although very briefly shown at Sony’s event, Entwined impressed viewers with a whimsical, artsy, style and low key tone. At first it seemed like a small independently developed game just getting a little attention from the mothership, but Sony had an ace up their sleeve.

Unbeknownst to anyone, Sony announced that the title would be available to download IMMEDIATELY. Entwined is available to download for Playstation 4 via the Playstation Network. The game is priced at $9.99 USD.
