EA Sports Drops Ray Rice from ‘Madden 15’

Video game giant EA Sports has announced it will drop Ray Rice from its ‘Madden 15’ game.

The announcement comes in the wake of the indefinite suspension of Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice.

EA Sports confirmed the decision to cut Rice from the game roster via Twitter Tuesday morning.

@EAMaddenNFL: With Ray Rice’s indefinite suspension from the NFL, he will be removed from Madden NFL 15. The roster change will take place by this Friday.”

In February, Rice was caught on surveillance camera punching his then-fiancé Janay Palmer in an elevator at the Revel casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Palmer was knocked unconscious by the blow and Rice can be seen dragging her limp body out of the elevator.

While initially given a two-game suspension by the NFL immediately following the assault, the NFL has since reversed course after public outcry when the graphic video was released this week.
