Ed Sheeran Tweets Lone Date, Perhaps Release Date of New Album

Ed Sheeran by Eva Rinaldi

This morning, at about 6:30 AM Eastern time, Ed Sheeran Tweeted a lone, mysterious date.

The date he Tweeted was 7/4/2014.

Although Amazon has yet to release a listing for a new album, Ed Sheeran took to Twitter late last year to let his fans know that he was working on recording one.

Perhaps, then, this date is the official release date for his new, as-of-yet-untitled album.

It could, however, just be the release date of a new single. Only time will tell.

Even the date he posted is a little tricky. Since Ed Sheeran is British, it’s likely that the date refers to April 7th.

However, he knows that he has a large fan base in the United States. July fourth could also be the day to which this date refers.

Ed Sheeran told 95-106 Capital FM, a British radio station, that he wrote 120 songs for this new album.

If this is a release date for a new album, it will be the first album release for Ed Sheeran since his 2011 release “+”, which vaulted him to international success.

Did you enjoy Ed Sheeran’s last album?
