Elite: Dangerous Lifetime Expansion Pass Offer Expires 29th July

Are you looking forward to Elite: Dangerous? If so now might be the time to take a closer look at the Lifetime Expansion Pass being offered by Frontier Developments.

The Lifetime Expansion Pass entitles buyers to free updates throughout the life of the game after its release later this year, and is priced at $50 (£35). The pass is only available for purchase before the 29th July, and is available to buy on its own or as part of pre-release offers.

While investing in additional content for a game that hasn’t yet been released might be a gamble, it could end up saving you money in the long run.

Additional content will be available as separate purchases after launch, and gamers who invest in the pass could make significant savings.

Frontier Developments boss David Braben and his team have repeatedly stated that they have big plans for developing the title, and aim to upgrade and add content for years to come after release.

Exactly how much bang you get for your buck by investing early will largely depend on the success of the game, but Frontier outlined planned future updates in a newsletter today.

The proposed expansions include game changing functionality that serious Elite fans will not want to be without, such as planetary landings, ship exploration and surface vehicles.

Are you looking forward to the new Elite game? Do you think investing early is worthwhile?
