Ender’s Game officially premieres on November 1.
But tonight, Oct 31, on Halloween night, many theaters will be featuring a special pre-screening at 8pm.
We couldn’t find anything official on how many US theaters would be offering Ender’s Game pre-screenings, but using the official Ender’s Game site to test different zip codes, we discovered that it’s widely available.
Even theaters in many small to medium towns offer the Thursday, 8pm, showtime.
The highly anticipated sci-fi flick has NOT been a hit with critics so far.
Over at RottenTomatoes.com, Ender’s Game has a TomatoMeter rating of 66%.
In a review of the film, Joe Neumaier of the New York Daily News is advising movie-goers to “…avoid it. Brain cells are too valuable.”
Brian Orndorf of Blu-ray.com wrote “Ambitious and exceedingly well designed, ‘Ender’s Game’ is mummified in the drama department. It’s absolutely cold to the touch, with clumsy scenes sapping power from the material’s thought-provoking commentary on war.”
Ouch! But not everyone agrees that it’s that bad.
Kristy Puchko of CinemaBlend.com writes “It’s not just a thrilling adventure about space and war. It’s also a thoughtful story about growing up and figuring out not just who you are, but who you hope to become.”
And Rotten Tomatoes’ users rate it a 96% “want to see.”
Do you want to see Ender’s Game (count me in as a yes!).
Will you be going to the pre-screening? (count me in as a no – I’ve got a 10 year old excited about trick-or-treating).
