Facebook.com is down.
The homepage of the super popular social network currently says:
Sorry, something went wrong.
We’re working on it and we’ll get it fixed as soon as we can.
There’s no indication of how long Facebook will be down. Facebook has not made any statements about the outage.
The outage begin at approximately 3pm EST today, according to Facebook’s platform status page. The status page has also been down intermittently, sometimes displaying the same ‘sorry’ message.
Facebook reported that a “Facebook-wide issue is causing the Facebook Graph API to be temporarily unavailable” several minutes before the entire site went down.
An estimated 1.18 billion monthly active users are affected by the worldwide outage.
This is the third time Facebook has mysteriously gone down this month. According to IBT, it was also down on September 17 and September 24.
Facebook.com came back up and is working as of 3:55pm EST.
