Scented candles by Yankee Candle can be found for as low as $7.99. The retail price of these candles is usually between $18.00 and $25.00.
When it comes to fashion, the savvy buyer will be right at home at TJ Maxx. The October In Style Magazine highlights bright colored handbags in it’s monthly “Your Look /Instant Style” pages. Primary colored handbags are showcased with different ensembles. The accessory department at TJ Maxx has the same color and style bags, but at much lower prices. There is an evergreen Ralph Lauren purse with gold accents for $149.99, the retail tag was $268.00. A golden yellow Tommy Hilfinger bag was $89.99 versus $198.00 retail.
The clearance rack yields even better results: There was a leather, tobacco colored Steve Madden shoulder bag for $149.00, retail price $378.00. The shoe department is brimming with fall finds. There were hiking shoes, dress shoes, sneakers and boots. A pair of black, Ralph Lauren boots with a 1 inch heel were an excellent value at $199.99 instead of the retail $298.00. The selection at each TJ’s will vary, but their buyers have their eye on the current trends.
Stores are clearing out merchandise to get ready for the holidays. Every department has items on clearance. The clearance items are usually gathered on a separate rack or shelf and labeled as clearance. There are outstanding buys on gourmet foods and beauty products. The food section had flavored coffees for $4.50 a bag and various cookies and pastas for %50 to %75 off retail. The beauty product area has deeply discounted Nature’s Gate, Elizabeth Arden and other similar facial products.
TJ Maxx has promotions to encourage return customers. They give a %10 discount off your entire purchase when you open a store credit card. The online survey, on the bottom of the receipt, makes the customer eligible to enter a drawing for a $500.00 shopping spree. TJ Maxx.com offers two additional sweepstakes .
