Football fans everywhere will say that New Year’s Day means one thing: College Bowl games. Known for being the day with some of the best games, January 1, 2011 will be no different.
This day promises fans a lot of excitement as predictions are already being made about the potential winners of the New Year’s Day games. This year the schedule is slightly different than in years past and only six Bowl games are being played on the first day of the year.
Football fanatics will be able to watch the games all day long starting with the first one at noon ET and ending with the last which begins at 8:30 pm ET.
The day will kick off at 12:00 pm ET with the Ticket City Bowl on ESPN U. This game will showcase Northwestern and Texas Tech as they both vie for the win in their final game of the year.
At 1:00 pm ET there are two Bowl games to choose from. The Outback Bowl will pit Florida against Penn State on ABC and the Capital One Bowl will have Alabama facing Michigan State on ESPN.
The Gator Bowl will begin at 1:30 ET on ESPN2. This game showcases Mississippi State against Michigan.
The most anticipated Bowl game of the day will begin at 5:00 pm ET on ESPN. This is when Wisconsin will meet TCU in the Rose Bowl.
Finally, fans can catch Connecticut and Oklahoma at 8:30pm ET on ESPN for the Fiesta Bowl.
