Fifty Shades Of Grey Movie: Release Date Set – Will Pattinson Play Lead?

Fifty Shades Of Grey Movie: Release Date Set – Will Pattinson Play Lead?

Fifty Shades of Grey, the movie, is set for an August 1, 2014.

That announcement has intensified rumors of who will star in the film. Dozens of actors and actresses have been associated with the main roles.

New rumors circulating today suggest that Robert Pattinson could possibly play billionaire Christian Grey.

Pattinson has a pretty busy schedule coming up (he has five movies slated for the next two years). However, E! Online notes that Fifty Shades Of Grey started out as a Twilight fan fiction, so Pattinson would be a perfect fit.

Other contenders rumored to play Christian Grey have been Ian Somerhalder, Matt Bomer, and Henry Cavill.

Christian Grey is described in the book as having “unruly dark-copper-colored hair and intense, bright gray eyes.”  Seems to me that Somerhalder would fit the role well.

For the Anastasia Steele, rumors have it that Alexis Biedel, Emma Watson, or Mila Kunis, could possibly take the role – although all have denied being directly contacted about the role through their twitter pages.

It has been confirmed that Sam Taylor-Johnson will be directing the movie, which will be adapted into a screenplay by Kelly Marcel and Michael De Luca. Dana Brunetti will produce the film, which is expected to be a blockbuster.

So with the a release date already set, a director already hired, and a screenplay already written, one has to wonder what’s holding up the casting decisions. As of now, however, the Fifty Shades movie cast is still a mystery.

Who do you think should play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele?
