Today we’re taking a look at cell phones and smartphones discounted in Labor Day sales and beyond.
Verizon is our first stop. They have a small number of Labor Day Deals and online exclusives right now. The LG Cosmos Touch, the BlackBerry Curve 3G, the LG Cosmos 2, and the Samsung Continuum (used) are each free with the purchase of a new two-year Verizon plan. A number of other cell phones, a hotspot, and a 4G modem are also included in the sale at verizon.com.
T-Mobile is not promoting a Labor Day sale, per se, on their website. However, they do have two web only deals listed. One deal is for the new HTC Wildfire S, the other for the Samsung Gravity. Both are free with activation of a new two-year T-Mobile plan at t-mobile.com
Sprint is not promoting a Labor Day sale either, but they have a variety of phones free with the purchase of a two-year plan listed in their “web only” deals. These include the LG Optimus S, the LG Rumor Touch, the LG Lotus (used), the LG Remarq (used), the Samsung Rant (used), the Sanyo SCP-3810 (used), and the Sanyo SCP-2700 (used). A fairly large number of other phones are available at discounted prices at sprint.com.
AT&T is having a "Super Smartphone Sale". The phones in the deal that come free with the activation of a new two-year AT&T plan are the Palm Pixi Plus, and a refurbished Motorola Flipside. For a penny, with plan purchase, they have the Samsung Captivate, the HP Veer 4G, a refurnished BlackBerry Curve 8310, the Motorola flip side, and a BlackBerry Curve 3G. Though there is not much information on their website, it does appear that AT&T is having a free activation special at the moment. No information on how long that would be available, or what restrictions are imposed, was found on their site.
There are also two major online cell phone discounters that are authorized dealers for Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon.
One of the discounters, called Wirefly, is having a "Labor Day Android Sale". The sale ends tonight at midnight, and includes android phones such as the Droid Incredible 2, the Evo 3D, the CASIO GzOne Commando, the Sanyo Zio, the Kyocera Echo, and quite a few other android phones that come free with the purchase of a new two-year plan from their respective carriers. Some also include a free mini Bluetooth headset, and all include Wirefly’s free data backup service.
The other online discounter is LetsTalk. They are not featuring a Labor Day sale on their website, but they do have a back-to-college sale going on. Free phones that are avaiilable the with purchase of a two-year activation with the phone’s carrier, include the Samsung Transform, The LG Optimus S, the Palm Pixi, the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9330, the Samsung Trender, the LG Rumor Touch, and the Sanyo Taho, amongst others.
