Sony just recently agreed to a $15 million settlement in a class action lawsuit that came as a result of the PSN hacking back in 2011.
Should the company’s settlement be approved, PlayStation owners could take advantage of such offers like free PS3 or PSP titles, PS3 XMB themes, PS Plus subscriptions and more.
Initially reported by Polygon, those that were affected by the event, as well as those that weren’t, are eligible to claim the offers, which will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis up to a predetermined amount.
PSN users who already participated in Sony’s Welcome Back program can claim one free game, theme or three-months of PS Plus.
Non-participants are eligible for one free PS3 of PSP game from a list of fourteen, three PS3 XMB themes or three-months of PS Plus.
In both cases that involve the PS Plus subscription, an already active account in required.
The final ruling on Sony’s agreement won’t be made by a judge until May 1, 2015.
If things are deemed to be fair, we’ll all have the pleasure of filling out a claim form and choosing the one and only correct benefit: more PS Plus.
