Free Shipping Day: Last Chance For Free Xmas Delivery Is Dec 18 At 900 Stores

Over 900 stores will be offering free shipping with delivery in time for Christmas during 2015’s annual Free Shipping Day on Friday, December 18.

In order to participate in the event, stores must waive minimum order requirements and truly give shoppers free shipping on their online purchases.

Friday, December 18 is the last day to get free shipping with delivery in time for Christmas Eve 2015.

Plenty of big name retailers are signed up for the event at FreeShippingDay.com and this year Walmart and JC Penney have signed on to participate.

Other popular retailers participating in Free Shipping Day 2015 include: Target, Belk, Express, Bass Pro Shops, Lands’ End, Plow & Hearth, Lane Bryant, Wine.com, H&M, Timberland, Smashbox, Fisher Price, Nautica, DSW, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Forever 21, the National Geographic Store and many more.

Smaller sellers are also included: Etsy artisans and independent online merchants will be participating as well.

Other stores will be announced when all deals go live for Free Shipping Day 2015 at 12:01am EST on Friday, December 18. In addition to free shipping, many stores will be offering additional deals and discounts with savings as much as 50% off.

Free Shipping Day began in 2008 and is now in its eighth year. Free Shipping Day sales exceeded those of Black Friday by 2010 and reached a billion dollars in sales by 2011.

“The convenience of online shopping is tough to beat, especially when you don’t have to pay for delivery,” Luke Knowles, founder of Free Shipping Day, said. “That’s why our event has been so successful: shoppers love free shipping.”

“With Free Shipping Day, you don’t have to bother finding extra products or worry about what delivery will cost you. You will receive free shipping on your order from all retailers participating in our event, period.”

However, there have been reports of some shoppers experiencing delays in delivery of their Cyber Monday orders and headlines noting a backlog of packages in some parts of the country due to an overwhelming amount of online orders this year.

For shoppers wondering whether they can order Christmas presents as late as Friday and still receive them by Christmas Eve, FedEx says it expects deliveries to remain on-time.

“Our networks are performing as designed and we are working hard to absorb the extra volumes.  A record number of holiday shipments – fueled largely by the steady rise of e-commerce – are flowing through the FedEx global networks. Our dedicated team members around the world are committed to delivering the holidays,” said Rae Lyn Rushing, Sr. Communications Specialist at FedEx, via email.

As of press time, UPS and USPS didn’t respond to a request for comment.
