Friends fans mark your calendars because after 10 long years Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Pheobe and Joey are heading back to TV for a reunion special.
But before you get too excited, it’s worth noting that while the entire cast will be there and they will be showing clips from the show, this won’t be a Friends movie or extended episode.
Instead, the whole gang will be a part of a 2-hour special to honor Friends‘iconic comedy director James Burrows, who shot his 1,000th TV episode recently.
In addition to Friends, Burrows was also the director for Cheers, The Bob Newhart Show and Taxi.
Scheduled to air on Sunday, February 21st, the show will run 2-hours long and will be similar to the 40th Anniversary Saturday Night Live Tribute NBC did last year.
Still, this is a big deal as up until now it has been virtually impossible to get the whole cast together for a reunion, although they might not all appear together.
According to NBC entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt, while all 6 will be a part of this reunion, the network is unsure if they would appear together or in groups throughout the episode.
In Greenblatt’s words: “I’m hoping all six will be in same room at same time [but] I’m not sure we can logistically can pull it off.”
That would be a bit disappointing, hopefully they figure out how to make it happen.
